Armoured Fighting Vehicles and Tank Destroyers used By Indian Army

The Indian Army has been given the responsibility of guarding our country from any external and internal terrors. Its power and strength is reflected by the combat vehicles it possesses. This list shows some of the Armoured Vehicles used by Indian army :

ADITYA MPV

Aditya MPV developed in Medak ordnance factory. A total of 1300+ Aditya’s have been ordered by the Indian Army. The vehicle can withstand a blast of TNT and has 7.62mm MAG remote control weapons.

Casspir

The Casspir is a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle used as Armoured personnel carrier in
Indian Army currently operates 90 such vehicles.


Tarmour AFV

The Tarmour heavy armored personnel carrier developed by Indian. It is a conversion of ageing  Soviet T-55 medium tanks. India operates around 900 T-55 tanks, that are in process of being phased out. This heavy APC shows some Israel's influence in it's design.

TATA LAMV

Origin : India
The LAMV (Light Armoured Multipurpose Vehicle) is a new 4x4 light patrol vehicle developed by India-based TATA Motors Defence Solutions in collaboration with Supacat of the UK. The vehicle was unveiled for the first time at the DEFEXPO 2014. Undergoing trials as of 2015 and going to be Completed By 2016.
The vehicle can be deployed in troop transportation, reconnaissance, border patrol, convoy protection, light strike and urban warfare missions. In this vehicle the crew is protected against small arms fire, shell splinters and explosives.

It is the mainly the 3rd generation Nag “fire-and-forget” anti-tank missile developed in India that is mounted on BMP-2 tank. Indian Army currently operating 15+ NaMiCa carriers along with 450 Nag Missiles and is planing to Induct 7000 Nag missiles and around 200 NaMiCa carriers.
